The 2023 World Judo Championships are coming soon! After Uzbekistan in 2022, it is the turn of Qatar to host the competition of the year. Doha will host nearly 500 judokas from all over the world.
The Fighting Films team ready for the World Judo Championships
The year 2023 is starting on a high note for our Fighting Films athletes. First of all revelations among the young judokas but also confirmations for the most experienced. The five Grand Slams of this year have shown that the Superstars of Team Fighting Films are ready for the big event of the year, the World Championships. Thus, one year before the Olympic Games, a rain of medals fell on our athletes.
ALPHA DJALO (-81kg)
At the beginning of the year and at home, Alpha Djalo illustrated himself with a superb third place at the Grand Slam of Paris. The PSG resident is in a great shape, he wins a new bronze medal at the Grand Slam of Antalya, a few weeks before the world championships. Currently 5th in the world in -81kg, Alpha Djalo is looking forward to this competition more than ever. @alpha_djalo
MICHAEL KORREL (-100kg)
The reigning European vice-champion is also starting his 2023 year in the best possible way. Two Grand Slams, two finals, a gold medal in Paris and silver in Tel Aviv. After a bronze medal at the 2022 World Judo Championships and another in 2019, the Dutchman is determined to leave with the title. 2nd in the world on the eve of the competition he is among the favorites to win the title. @korrelforgold
PATRICIA SAMPAIO (-78kg)
The young Portuguese is one of the revelations of the year 2023. At only 23 years old she won the Grand Prix of Portugal on her home ground. In addition, she finished three times on the third step of the podium of Grand Slams: Tel Aviv, Tashkent and Antalya. Finally, after a magnificent fifth place in 2019 at just 20 years old, she has every chance of finishing on the podium in Doha. @sampaiolovesjudo
NILS STUMP (-73kg)
The 26 year old Swiss judoka ended 2022 on a high note with two Open titles and a victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. 2023 is shaping up just as well for our young superstar. After a victory in Tel Aviv and a third place in Tashkent, he is in optimal conditions to perform at the 2023 World Championships. Currently 9th in the world, Nils Stump is part of a strong Swiss team that can claim several podiums. @stumpnils
DANIEL EICH (-100kg)
Another talented young Swiss judoka, Daniel Eich is ready for the World Judo Championships. At 23 years old he won his first medal in the Grand Slam in Antalya. In a category with a very high level, he will try to impose his physical power to overcome his more experienced opponents. Finally, the young Swiss participates in many competitions allowing him to evolve more and more rapidly. @daniel.eich2000
